BETHESDA PROJECT
BETHESDA PROJECT
We are helping 83 leprosy -
affected families and 19 leprosy affected singles by
providing food, shelter, clothing, medical care and
education for the children through the Bethesda recurring
program. All together 168 patients and 115 children are being
benefited through this project.
We are educating the leprosy
patient’s children through Word & Deed Educational
Academy. Few of the leprosy patient’s children are working
and became self-supportive after completing their higher
studies.

1.The cured leprosy patients are
involved in the rehabilitation units such as weaving,
tailoring, shoe – making, carpentry, electric repairs, plastic
bag making, soap making, phenyl making, candle making,
floriculture and watch & Ward duties.
2.We are running a hospital for
the leprosy patients and also for the outsiders. We are
treating the leprosy patients as I.P and O. P cases and they
are also being provided with Physiotherapy treatment. A total
of 869 minor and major surgeries were performed in the
hospital theatre on minimal rates, many poor people are being
benefited by our hospital.
3.All the printing works are
being done in the printing and binding training center. The
printing press has been very useful for the project as we are
able to supply all the notebooks to school and college at a
cheaper rate and other works like binding, file making,
screen printing could be done easily. Some of the leprosy
patient’s children were trained in the printing press.
