Word and Deed

We are providing Education and Boarding facilities for 1842 sponsored and un-sponsored students through Word & Deed School. In addition to the hostel children we have 646 students attending the Word & Deed School as day-scholars by paying nominal fees. We are also supporting 159 students for Graduation and professional courses who are studying outside in different colleges.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER

1 .We are providing non-formal technical training for the 270 un-employed youth. The courses offered through the VTC are Computers, Radio & T.V mechanism, Motor rewinding & Home appliances repairs, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration, Tailoring, Carpentry, Auto electrician, Welding, Auto mechanic.

2. Apart from theory classes VTC trainees are involved in various practical works. Tailoring unit trainees stitched civil dresses, welding & carpentry trainees are involved in maintenance works like repairing doors & windows, and furniture repairs at school and VTC. The trainees in Motor rewinding unit were

involved in servicing and repairing all the word & Deed equipments and attended to electrical works in the school & VTC. Masonry & plumbing trainees are involved in the civil works at school, Shantinagar & Kalanagar housing colonies, VTC, Bethesda and FSSP – Begumpet.

3. We have14 teaching staff in the faculty for 10 trades, 2 office staff 2 wardens for boys and girls hostels.

1.For the year 2005-2006, over 500 candidates have registered for admissions, out of which we have selected 270 candidates after conducting an aptitude test and interviews.

2.In future we are planning to introduce few more trades especially for girls. We are planning to get the affiliation to the technical board of A. P and to provide training in formal technical courses.

Job and Business Center: We have started Job & Business centre to help the graduates in finding the Jobs in companies. Through JBC we are in touch with 65 companies for recommending the candidates for employment. We keep a record of the all the graduates and try to find placements for them. This year we have appointed one staff as an in-charge for JBC. In this year 70 % of VTC graduates have found suitable jobs in various companies through JBC and 12% of the trainees are doing their higher education. We are waiting for the information from the remaining graduates.
